The following morning they will will lead contemporary worship with us at Tower Hill on Sunday, Sept. 28. You won't want to miss it!

Keep checking Tower Talk for ticket availability at The Vogel!

Did you know it takes around 28 volunteers to help serve communion each month?

That's right! 28 (current or previous) Elders, Deacons, Guest Services & Sunday School leaders help over 2 days for YOU to experience communion in worship.

From buying and cutting the bread, pouring the communion cups, to cleaning up, setting up the next services, serving actual communion, dismissing rows, guiding you in lines, and of course people bringing down the kids & teens (and keeping them quiet in the lobby!)... there are MANY orchestrated moments to Communion Sundays.

It takes a TEAM the first Sunday of every month!

So thank a communion volunteer next Communion Sunday for volunteering their time to help with this important sacrament.

Band Member John O'Neill

How  long have you been in the band and what is your roll?

I can’t remember exactly when I started. But it was definitely pre-covid. I play drums, banjo and sing harmonies.

How did you get to Tower Hill?

As a first and second grader, I sang in the Tower Hill Children’s Choir where I learned to sing harmony. It’s a privilege to be back all these years later.

Tell us a bit about you personally.

I grew up in Fair Haven. I’m married with two kids in college. I haven’t strayed too far. We live in Little Silver.

Tell us a bit about you musically.

I’ve spent most of my life playing music. I majored in Classical percussion at Indiana University and am in my 22nd year as an instrumental music teacher in the Long Branch school district.

What's your favorite Christian song to perform?

I can’t choose one! But I like playing and singing David Crowder songs on the banjo.

What's your favorite non-christian song to perform?

Well, it’s definitely not Freebird.

Who's your favorite musician/band?

There are probably twenty bands in my top five.

Tell us about what you do musically outside of Tower Hill?

Your Music Director, Dan Corboy and I play in three different bands. Go to thedanjos.com and you can find out about all three of them!

Help Tower Hill serve dinner to the Lunch Break community every 4th Friday of the month! 5:30-8 at Lunch Break!

This is an AMAZING way to serve our community and is also open to teens 16 and over - a great way to serve as a family!

Arts for Autism Broadway Benefit Show

Arts for Autism is a one night, annual Broadway benefit concert where the biggest names on Broadway join performing arts students from around the country. Tower Hill’s own Jacqueline Carnahan is the producer!

This year will feature Aladdin's Genie as the host again, as well as big Broadway stars from Wicked, Hamilton, West Side Story and more! Including the original Aladdin himself!

Specific transportation from Tower Hill isn't being arranged this year, but get some Tower Hill friends and go together for a great night for a great cause!

Recently, the Mission Team at Tower Hill Church had the opportunity to speak with Pastor George Kaden , (former Pastor of Old Brick Reformed Church in Marlboro, New Jersey) who co-founded the charity Love Lifts Us Up at Jersey Shore Hospital.  Love Lifts Us Up (LLUU) is a grassroots, all volunteer, registered 501 C3 charity, providing ongoing/real time assistance to underserved families of newborns and seriously ill children during a hospital admission, and those requiring support upon discharge.

LLUU meets monthly at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Hope Tower, and via Zoom. Meeting dates are posted on the website. Would you like to get involved with this organization? They are currently looking for volunteers with some specific skills…an experienced grant writer, fund raising volunteers, non-profit management experience, legal guidance for non-profits and a potential experienced bookkeeper.  If you have any of these skills or would like more information, please check out their website, www.lluu.org
