Hymn Sing is THIS SUNDAY!

HYMN SING & INDOOR PICNIC

We hope you'll join us for some fellowship and joyful congregational singing! We'll start in Webster Hall at 5pm as we enjoy an indoor picnic together with sandwiches, fruit, chips, and veggies.

We invite you to bring a "finger food" appetizer or a cold "finger food" dessert for 8-10 people to share. If your last name begins with A-K please bring an appetizer and if your last name begins with L-Z, a dessert.

Following dinner we will head to the sanctuary and sing together our favorite hymns from the hymnal and beyond.

SAVE THE DATE!

Join us for a Tower Hill Night out at the Dublin House in Red Bank!

We are taking over the 2nd floor. Live music, lite bites, cash beverages and good times! Space will be limited! The cost is $10 per person.

Tickets will go on sale Sunday, February 23 at 5pm.

Don't worry - we will send an email, app alert and put it on our website!

 1) How long have you been in the band and what is your roll?

I started playing keyboards and singing in the worship band in 2018, so just under 7 years.

2) How did you get to Tower Hill?

My wife’s family has spent summers in the area for many years, and my kids attended music camp at Tower Hill when they were young. After we moved from Brooklyn to this area, it was a natural place to start.

3) Tell us a bit about you personally.

I live in Shrewsbury with my wife, Karen, and our two dogs: Ellie and Georgie. We have 2 children: Jenna is a Physics teacher in Brooklyn (she's getting married in May!); Joshua works in video production and lives in Mesa, Arizona. I am a voracious reader and a crossword puzzle aficionado.

4) Tell us a bit about you musically.

I took organ lessons briefly as a kid and played clarinet in the junior high school band, but most of my musical education came from singing in choirs (since I was in the 2nd grade!). I learned to harmonize there and at Young Life sing-along's in high school. In high school, I taught myself to play the piano; now I’m trying to unlearn all the bad habits that I picked up along the way.

5) What's your favorite Christian song to perform?

I like most everything that our worship band plays, but I particularly enjoy the ones that provide opportunities for interesting vocal harmonies.

6) What's your favorite non-Christian song to perform?

Currently, “Bloody Well Right” by Supertramp. It's got a great keyboard intro, if a bit challenging!

8) Who's your favorite musician/band?

This is a tough one. I like a lot of artists and genres, but my all-time favorite is Yes.

9) Tell us about what you do musically outside of Tower Hill and where people could check you out!

I play keyboards and sing in a classic rock cover band called The Beekeepers, along with fellow Tower Hill worship band member Steve Strom. Recently, Steve’s daughter, Julia (who also sings in the Tower Hill worship band), has started singing with us. We have mostly played in the South Amboy area, but we are hoping to move into the Red Bank area in the next year. Check out our Facebook page; We don't post much audio or video there, but we do advertise all our gigs there.

If you are interested in preparing and serving dinner at First Baptist Church at the next Feast on March 30, please contact Carol Moser below for more information.

Thank you to our volunteers for their giving and loving spirit!
