3) Tell us a bit about you personally.
I live in Shrewsbury with my wife, Karen, and our two dogs: Ellie and Georgie. We have 2 children: Jenna is a Physics teacher in Brooklyn (she's getting married in May!); Joshua works in video production and lives in Mesa, Arizona. I am a voracious reader and a crossword puzzle aficionado.
4) Tell us a bit about you musically.
I took organ lessons briefly as a kid and played clarinet in the junior high school band, but most of my musical education came from singing in choirs (since I was in the 2nd grade!). I learned to harmonize there and at Young Life sing-along's in high school. In high school, I taught myself to play the piano; now I’m trying to unlearn all the bad habits that I picked up along the way.
5) What's your favorite Christian song to perform?
I like most everything that our worship band plays, but I particularly enjoy the ones that provide opportunities for interesting vocal harmonies.
6) What's your favorite non-Christian song to perform?
Currently, “Bloody Well Right” by Supertramp. It's got a great keyboard intro, if a bit challenging!
8) Who's your favorite musician/band?
This is a tough one. I like a lot of artists and genres, but my all-time favorite is Yes.
9) Tell us about what you do musically outside of Tower Hill and where people could check you out!
I play keyboards and sing in a classic rock cover band called The Beekeepers, along with fellow Tower Hill worship band member Steve Strom. Recently, Steve’s daughter, Julia (who also sings in the Tower Hill worship band), has started singing with us. We have mostly played in the South Amboy area, but we are hoping to move into the Red Bank area in the next year. Check out our Facebook page; We don't post much audio or video there, but we do advertise all our gigs there.
